Five skills are playable end to end this update, three of them for the first time, and the Leviathan has been rebuilt against the wiki and released to everyone on the Bosses teleport tab. There is also a Tasks window with three fresh jobs a day, one shop window listing every counter in the game, and the Loot and XP tracker panels turned on by default.

Highlights

  • Hunter, Fletching and Farming - three skills that could not be trained at all before now run 1 to 99, on the real hunting grounds, patches and counters the map already had.
  • Woodcutting and Firemaking rebuilt - willow, yew, magic and redwood were uncuttable anywhere and no tinderbox existed in the game. Both ladders now work properly, with axes and a tinderbox at the Blood lumberjack.
  • The Leviathan is live - rebuilt onto the fight OSRS actually has, and released with Combat Achievements, a Blood Slayer bounty and a Bestiary row like any other boss.
  • Daily tasks - three jobs drawn for you each day beside a twelve-step "Getting started" route, both paying coins and blood money.
  • One window for every shop - every counter in the game down the left rail, its stock beside it, whichever door you walked through.
  • Loot Tracker and XP Tracker - the RuneLite sidebar panels, both on by default, with loot priced off the server's own item values.

New content

  • Hunter - bird snares, butterfly netting, box traps, chinchompas, net traps, salamanders and falconry across eight sites, with eight teleport rows on the Skilling tab and the Hunting expert selling every trap at home.
  • Fletching - nine logs, twelve bows, seven crossbows, forty-five ammunition recipes, bolt tips and shields, plus Hickton's counter at home. Before this there was no knife, bow string, feather or arrowtip anywhere in the game.
  • Farming - seventy seeds, five tools and three grades of compost from the new Farming counter, patches that grow per player so nobody harvests your herbs, and six farm teleport rows.
  • Woodcutting and Firemaking - the full tree ladder up to redwood re-keyed onto this world's trees, and burning is worth training for the first time. Both land at similar rates, so neither is the trap it used to be.
  • Toxic blowpipe - it charges now. A chisel on a tanzanite fang at 78 Fletching, or 15M at the Armoury, gets you the empty pipe; Zulrah's scales and darts fill it, and Check, Unload and Uncharge all hand the contents back.
  • Booster scrolls - seven one-shot scrolls in the Vote Shop at four points each, each lifting one chase rate for you alone: Larran's keys, pets, revenant uniques, Nex, Gauntlet, Theatre uniques and blood money from kills.

Combat and balance

  • The Leviathan, rebuilt - the volley ladder, the roar and its falling rock, the shadow-spell stun and the weak spot behind it, and the two specials alternating as its retaliation. Melee cannot reach it, the same as OSRS, and the drops now roll OSRS's sequential chain.
  • Great Olm re-audited - one mitigation rule for the wrong prayer across the head and both hands, the sticky magic and ranged auto with its real max hits, prayer read at impact so it is flickable, and eight set-pieces that had been playing no sound at all.
  • Blood Slayer experience - a task now pays off the boss's blood money tier rather than its raw hitpoints, so points and experience finally track each other. That puts 99 Slayer at roughly 125 tasks instead of 423.
  • Imbued god capes - all three at 10,000 blood money, +15 magic attack and +2% magic damage. There is no Mage Arena here, so the counter is their only source, and they are the mage's answer to the fire cape a melee buys for the same slot.
  • Task rewards pegged to the drop tables - the coin half of every task reward was about three times its blood money half, so it has been cut to sit at the 500:1 the boss tables already pay. Every blood money figure is untouched.

Interface and quality of life

  • Tasks - ::tasks, or the button that appears bottom left when you log in with something to claim. Today's three sit above the "Getting started" route, and the quest tab carries the same count.
  • Shops - every counter now opens the same window, with a rail of shops down the left and its stock paged beside it. The three new skilling counters join it automatically.
  • Loot and XP trackers - both RuneLite panels are in the sidebar and on by default. Prices come from the server, so what a drop is worth in the tracker is what it is worth here.
  • The server tour is now mandatory - only for the first new account from an address, and only once. Everyone after that gets the usual offer.
  • Wilderness chests - Larran's loot comes noted now, since it is meant to leave the Wilderness, and the wreck's six ship's ladders work, so the big chest is reachable without a detour.

Client and performance

  • Windows sit in the centre again - the bank, the shop and every other screen were drifting off centre, and under about 900px of window they parked in the top-left corner. They now centre in the space the sidebar and chat leave free, at every size.
  • Overlays no longer paint over an open screen - ground item labels, tile markers and the potion timers were all drawing across the bank, the collection log and every shop.
  • Custom textures under HD - anything wearing one of our own textures, the Blood slayer helmet included, rendered flat white with the HD renderer on. It draws properly now.
  • The minimap fills at login - the disc used to sit black for the first seconds of a load while its chunks decoded in the background.

Fixes

  • The bank could empty itself after a search - a typed query could never be cleared for the rest of the session, and the next open built none of its item slots: no items, no tabs, no scrollbar. Fixed, and the search state is now cleared by the client when the last screen closes.
  • Using a knife on logs did nothing - the menu that offers what to make was framed at a width that only fitted one product, so anything wider was dropped before it left the server.
  • Chat lines went black halfway through - a highlighted name inside a message blanked the colour of everything after it, across seventeen systems at once.
  • Larran's key drew as "null" - it shipped on an item id the client cache has never heard of.
  • The shop window flashed the last shop you visited - it now sends everything the screen says before it opens, so the first frame is already the right counter.

Behind the scenes

  • The skills all ship with headless tests that play them - the trap runs, the fletching sets and both gathering rates are measured by the test harness rather than read off a table, which is how the experience ladders were tuned.
  • A skill's slot in the stats tab is a save contract - Hunter had been added after Construction, so every catch paid into the wrong bar. It is pinned by a test now.
