Runecrafting and the Crimson Court

Runecrafting is trainable from level 1 now, the Crimson Court has opened as the donator zone, and the client draws the game off Old School's current data. The phased bosses were re-timed against OSRS as well, after players reported that the Great Olm's phases move faster here than they should.
Highlights
- Runecrafting - the twelve altars, the Abyss and Aubury's essence counter at home. The skill had a cape, a pet and a place on the achievement boards and no way to earn a single point of experience; it is trainable end to end now.
- The Crimson Court - the donator zone opens in the Clan Hall, with a supply counter, a fishing pond and a portal in the home courtyard beside the Portal Nexus.
- The Arceuus spellbook - the third book, switched at the home altar or with
::arceuus: the grasps, the corruptions, the demonbanes, Mark of Darkness, Ward of Arceuus, Death Charge, Shadow Veil, both offerings, the reanimations and eleven teleports. - The phased bosses are closer to OSRS - the Great Olm retreats underground between phases instead of fighting through them, and Tekton, Verzik, the Wardens and all four of the Forgotten Four carried numbers that were harder here than they are in the real game.
- The client stops slowing down - the frame rate collapse a few hours into a session is fixed, and so is the black screen after login.
- Rigour, Augury and Preserve - the three Chambers of Xeric prayer scrolls can be read at last. Nothing had ever been able to read one, so all three prayers were unreachable.
New content
- Runecrafting, end to end - buy essence from Aubury at home, take the Mage of Zamorak's teleport into the Abyss, cross an obstacle and step through the rift you want. Eleven altars, the pouches, and every one of the world's ruins on its own talisman; wrath runes stay an Armoury purchase.
::runecrafting. - The Crimson Court - the donator zone is the Clan Hall, every floor of it, reached through the Donator portal in the home courtyard or with
::dzone. Inside there is a supply counter that sells at three times the usual value, the pond, and the hall itself. - The Court pond - halibut and marlin, the best single-bite food in the game at 20 and 24 hitpoints healed, and they are caught nowhere else here. There is no Fishing or Cooking requirement at all: the bait is the whole gate, it is priced by your rank at the Fisherman's counter, and from Legendary he hands the catch over already cooked.
- Donator perks - eight rank ladders in one place: blood money from PvM, pet rate, bank space, noted gathering, repair cost, shop prices, Blood Slayer cancels and Rest tokens.
::perksprints your own column and only what the next rank would change. - The home blood pond - five blood fishing spots dug in between the quarry and the grove, and the Blood angler has left the skill-master row to work them, the way the lumberjack and the miner already do.
- The Zulrah lane - everything her table pays for has somewhere to go now. Tridents charge and uncharge, the magic fang builds the trident of the swamp and the toxic staff of the dead, the serpentine visage becomes a helm and the mutagens recolour it.
- The Chambers' prayer scrolls - reading a torn, dexterous or arcane scroll unlocks Preserve, Rigour or Augury. It asks first, because reading destroys the scroll.
- Home cooking range - there is a range at home, in the ground beside the rest of the skilling row.
- Community Manager - a fifth staff rank, and a badge only: a crown, a chat colour and a yell tag, with no commands and no exemptions of any kind.

Combat and balance
- The Great Olm has a phase transition - he sinks underground for eighteen seconds between phases, the crystal rain runs on its own while he is down, and the new claws rise with him. Before this the new claws arrived on the tick the old pair died and the rain was stacked on top of a live attack cycle, so a transition could hand you a shatter, an auto and a special on one tick.
- The Olm's other seven - the elemental special is one roll per beat rather than one per player facing him, a crystal burst only catches the tile it lands on, the fire walls give you eight ticks to leave instead of four, the deep burn strikes every seven ticks, and the clench threshold no longer tightens along with our smaller claw pool.
- The Forgotten Four - the Leviathan's orbs and the Whisperer's volleys read your prayer when they land rather than when they are fired, the Leviathan's lightning stroke crosses the arena at half the speed, its smoke blast can be prayed against, Vardorvis's bleed refreshes instead of stacking, and Duke's gas flare covers 3x3.
- Tekton - the anvil heals him 7% of his pool a visit rather than 9.3%, the smoke pillars tick every three, and standing on his own tiles is safe from his swings, as it should be.
- Tombs of Amascut - the down phase widens as the Wardens weaken instead of stopping halfway, the trough lanes are the forks the floor is actually painted with, the obelisk can be attacked from every side (from the west or the south it took no damage at all), and Akkha's phantom no longer leaks 15% through the correct overhead. A solo raid clears on one inventory of supplies.
- Verzik - her phase-one bombs come at the right cadence in a party.
- Araxxor - he closes the distance now, which is the whole strategy half of the fight and was impossible while he stood still. A special is also what he does instead of the next swing rather than one of the six; an egg cannot be killed part-way through hatching and pay out twice; two mirrorbacks reflect 40% and 20%, not 36% and 18%; and the acid ball only explodes when it hits a wall.
- Dagannoth Kings - the four armour pieces sat on the wrong table, so they were rarer than the rings off the same king. All eight uniques share OSRS's flat rate now.
- Attack styles - the abyssal bludgeon was on the two-handed sword tab wearing sword stances, and clicking any of them made it roll slash and swing a sword for the rest of the session. It is on the warhammer tab with three crush stances, the crimson kisten has moved to the mace tab, and Morrigan's javelin's stances light the right buttons.
- Soul Stealer - the pact promises your hits on monsters cannot fall below 10% of your max, and a miss went straight past that floor. A hit on a monster lands on it now.
- Void Knight equipment - either route to the upgrade is enough on its own: Wilderness kills or completed Slayer tasks, counting both masters.
Interface and quality of life
- The game frame is Old School's own - all three layouts are real, fixed, resizable classic and resizable modern, and you pick between them in the settings.
- Settings - the settings tab and the All Settings window are OSRS's screens now, carrying only the settings this game honours. That includes a drop item warning with its own value threshold, PK skull prevention, both 'Attack' option dropdowns, the four volumes, brightness and roofs.
- Key bindings - the F-key-per-tab picker is on OSRS's own window instead of the replica whose dropdowns you could see straight through, and your choices are saved to your account for the first time rather than reset every time the client starts.
- Hiscore panel - right-click a player and pick Lookup, and the panel opens on our own boards: levels, experience and a kill count beside every boss.
- Presets side panel - the Preset Manager has a side panel as well as its window, with Load Preset directly under the dropdown, where most visits are heading anyway.
- Item spawner side panel - the spawner has one too.
- Donation store - bonds are bought in game: build the basket on the store screen and pay on the website.
::store. - Blood Slayer - you can name the size of your own bounty when Krystilia offers one.
- The make menu answers the keyboard - space makes the first product and 1 to 8 pick the nth, in cooking, crafting, fletching, herblore, gem cutting and at the sawmill.
- Mystery boxes - potions and food are handed over noted, so a hundred doses is one slot rather than an overflow line and a trip to the bank. The donator box's supply row pays a hundred doses of a potion you cannot spawn.
- Noted gathering -
::notedturns the perk off for a trip where you want the raw catch. - Jingles - a level-up fanfare no longer replaces the track that was playing.

Client and performance
- The game data is Old School's current release - models, textures, animations and the world all come from modern Old School now, and damage splats and health bars are OSRS's own. The first-run download is larger for it, around 340 MB.
- The frame rate no longer collapses over a session - the client kept every animation it had ever played, which is more than twice what it has room for, so a few hours in it ran out of memory and spent its time housekeeping instead of drawing. It only holds what it is using now.
- The black screen after login - the loading before the login screen took 4.2 seconds and takes 0.6.
- Scroll-wheel zoom - the jitter is gone, and a notch now moves the view the same distance at both ends of the range instead of five times as far at one end as the other.
- Ctrl shortcuts on a Mac - Ctrl+B, T, H, P and S either did nothing or bound another key entirely. They work.
- The launcher on the wrong Java - it refuses before it downloads anything and names the version it needs and where to get it, rather than leaving Windows to show a box that names nothing.
- The minimap - dots, landmark icons and destination flags spilled outside the circle they sit in. The mask around it is back.
Fixes
- A preset could destroy items - reported as lost dragon bolts, and there were three separate holes: a spill with nowhere to go was discarded, two entries naming one equipment slot overwrote each other, and an entry with no slot at all threw part way through and swallowed everything queued behind it. A load now hands back anything it cannot place, to your inventory first and your bank after, and it counts a stack you have split over two tabs.
- Picking an item up with a full inventory and a shut looting bag - the item disappeared. It stays on the ground now, and the pickup decides where an item is going before it takes it off the floor.
- Construction was unclickable - Build and Remove are the only fifth options in the game and both were sent to the wrong tile, so the whole skill answered nothing. Leaving a house is quick again too, and teleporting out no longer leaves you in a black world.
- Dying with a dropped connection - everything a death costs is settled a couple of ticks after it, and a connection that dropped inside that window took the settlement with it: the killer got nothing and a Hardcore Ironman survived any death by pulling the plug on it. A dying body is held until it is finished.
- The Mystical barrier at the Great Olm - a raider who died and walked back through the antechamber caught the acid spray, and the barrier vanished for the rest of that session. Effects no longer land on scenery.
- Zulrah's shrine was never a private fight - two players who both went to Zulrah were dropped onto the same platform, saw both serpents, and were hit by everything either one threw. Each fight is its own again.
- Vorkath's zombified spawn - it could arrive on a tile nobody could reach it on.
- Blood revenants in pockets - a rev could spawn in a nook of a rock formation or a locked room, and
::revbossteleported you in with it. - Blank window interiors - the shop, teleports, gambling, feedback and store screens drew a perfect window with nothing inside it.
- The account tab wore two heads - one of ours over the one the game draws itself.
- The compass needle - it was pinned to the wrong box and sat off its dial.
- The journal strip - the two remaining buttons are centred properly after the Features tab came out.
- The Kraken's fishing explosive - it shipped the wrong way round. It is the shortcut past the tentacle pool, not the toll for it, and the tentacle route is free.
- Shop discounts - the donator discount was applied on top of counters whose prices are already your rank's ladder.
- Game mode crowns - the three earned modes wore a friends-chat rank star and a clock. All three now wear one four-point star in their own colour, matching the Account Type window.
