World bosses at home

Two world bosses now rise in the events arena at home: Skotizo, raised by 25 server votes, and the Gemstone Crab, on a six-hour clock. Every world boss kill rolls a two-hour boost for everybody online. The 72 dogs of A Ruff Situation are in as pets with a Kennel to buy them from, the Tasks screen has been rebuilt, and all three raids now share OSRS's own party screens.
Highlights
- Skotizo - 25 server votes raise him in the events arena at home. He fights the whole room instead of picking one target, death in there is safe, and he pays the three biggest hitters as well as the killer.
- Gemstone Crab - rises in the same arena every six hours and stands for six minutes. There is nothing to learn and no way to lose it: stand next to it, hit it, and mine gems out of the shell it leaves behind.
- World boosts - every world boss kill rolls one timed server-wide boost for two hours, for everyone.
- Dog pets - 72 dogs across twelve breeds, three coats each, as adults and as puppies. The Kennel in the Crimson Court sells them and buys them back.
- Community events - staff can host an event without a developer in the loop.
::eventsshows what is on, and a race the game can judge for itself pays out on its own. - Raid parties - the Chambers, the Theatre and the Tombs all use OSRS's own party screens now, and Yama can be fought as a duo.
New content
- Skotizo - 5,000 hitpoints, level 321, twenty minutes to kill him before he leaves. His swipe is aimed at one person, his volley hits everybody in the room, and every sixth turn a shroud goes out that prayer does not stop and that drains 15% of your prayer points. Everybody above a damage floor shares the purse; the killer rolls Skotos at 1/100, and the top three by damage roll the corrupted armour pieces and the Dark claw. The corrupted set is tradeable, and the purse pays vote tickets you can trade or exchange back into points.
- Gemstone Crab - a 30,000 health bar that is really a clock, so it drains whether you hit it or not and nobody can rush it or snipe it. Turning up late costs you nothing and turning up with no food is a plan. It hits a maximum of 1, has no defence, and the reward is experience. When it burrows, the 16 players who did the most damage can mine three uncut gems and a small blood money purse out of the shell, which stands for 90 seconds. No pickaxe needed.
- The arena queues - Skotizo and the crab share one room, so whichever is due second waits and rises the moment the other has gone.
- Dog pets - each dog has Dig and Pet options as well as the usual ones. The Kennel is a coins counter in the Crimson Court that sells each dog for 30M and buys it back for 15M, with the price banded by donator rank; it sits on the shop rail so an account with no rank can still read the ladder.
- Community events - a host runs the HP event, where the crowd drains a damage pool off an invulnerable host in a pen at home, or declares a standing race that the game judges and pays automatically. Every prize comes off a fixed table under daily caps, and a host can end a race or cancel it outright.
- Elemental amulets - amulets of air, water, earth and fire at the blood money counter for 5k to 12.5k. Each is an amulet of magic that also adds +2 to the maximum hit of its own element's five standard spells, from 59 Magic. Use all four together and they fuse into the Elemental amulet, which does all four at once.
- Boss upgrade recipes - every dead-end boss drop now makes something. Godsword shards build a blade, so Nex's Ancient hilt finally becomes the Ancient godsword; the four quartzes build the ancient sceptres; the Kodai insignia builds the Kodai wand; the black tourmaline core builds Guardian boots; Armadyl armour is beaten into plates at an anvil for fortified Masori; and Elidinis' ward can be fortified. Examine any component and it prints the recipe and what you are still short of.
- The Fremennik rings are back - now the Dagannoth Kings drop them, the four DT2 rings can be built again, and the Warrior ring (i) is stocked at the counter for the one the Kings do not cover.
- Yama as a duo -
::yamapartyopens the party window, the leader walks both of you in, and the intermission, the flares and the glyph immunity all account for two people. - Champion's cape - 500 vote points at the Vote master, untradeable.
- Donator perks - three new ladders: a taller Rest Yard credit pool, teleports with no wind-up from Extreme (never in or out of the Wilderness), and
::deposit, a deposit box anywhere a bank would open, from Donator. - The events arena - a new walled arena at home, with the roofs off so you can see into it.

Combat and balance
- World boosts - a world boss kill rolls one of four for two hours, server-wide: +50% drop rate, double blood money, double coins, or double vote points. A second kill during one extends it rather than resetting it, and the vote boost cannot be used to walk through the daily cap faster.
- Corporeal Beast - the chase rates were on OSRS's own numbers, which assumed OSRS's kill speed. At three kills an hour here that was 455 hours for a sigil. They are now priced in hours like everything else: a spirit shield about four hours, the spectral and arcane sigils about nine, the elysian about 26, and the pet and the jar about 30.
- Doom of Mokhaiotl - the fight was not completable much past delve 3 and the one mechanic that rewards skill could not be played. Prayer is now read when a projectile lands rather than when it is fired, so watching the colour and switching your overhead actually works. Larvae no longer spawn inside the boss's melee ring, which is the only place a demonbane weapon can be used from, and they come slightly slower. The falling rock really falls now and its marked tiles stay lit for the whole fuse. Melee, ranged and magic each have their own projectile instead of sharing one. The acid spray is capped rather than firing on every hit, so hitting harder no longer killed you faster, and the holy water answer fires on any melee punish.
- Theatre of Blood - protection prayers block Verzik outright rather than halving her, which is the rule every other monster in the game follows. The end-of-phase-one pillar sweep no longer deals debris damage for pillars nobody knocked down, phase two's chain lightning falls off along the arc, the enrage tornado no longer heals her off you, and yellow pools can no longer open on top of a raider with nowhere to walk. The raid is beatable solo, as a duo and as a trio.
- Demonic gorillas and Tormented demons - a camp piled three to five monsters onto one player. A special attack now counts as an attack from the moment it launches, so the rest of the camp leaves you alone.
- Freezing works on big monsters - ice spells and binding specials were quietly refused by anything larger than two tiles, so General Graardor and Scorpia could never be bound however you played. Freezes land now unless a monster is specifically immune.
- Christmas cracker - the partyhat always goes to the player who pulled it, and the other player gets the trinket. It was a coin flip, which meant half of every pull handed the rarest item in the game to whoever happened to be standing there.
- Voting - the streak calendar repeats past day 30 instead of stopping there, Bloodlust is granted per vote with an extra hour for completing all four sites, and a linked Discord pays 1.5x points.
- Vote prizes are a ballot - the weekly and monthly bonds are drawn from every credited vote rather than handed to the top voter, so one vote is one entry and a small voter can win.
- Dawnbringer - its maximum hit is now half your Magic level plus one, rather than a sixth minus one.
Interface and quality of life
- Tasks - rebuilt on a screen of its own. Today's three, the all-three bonus, "Getting started" and "Milestones" are headed sections rather than one flat list; every row has a progress bar and a reading beside it; the header carries both counts, which used to be one number over two lists on different clocks; and each task has a button that takes you to the job.
- Raid parties - the Chambers, the Theatre and the Tombs share one party panel beside the chat channels, and every route now lands on the raid's own details screen with applicants, sortable member columns and per-member stats. Theatre and Tombs parties are public when formed, so those two recruiting boards show something for the first time.
::raidaccept,::toaacceptand::partyacceptall work. - Server broadcasts on screen - a broadcast now draws above the chatbox as well as in it, stacks, expires on its own clock and is clickable when it carries a link. It has its own row budget, so it can never cost a private message a line. Staff can pin one with
::sb. - Hiscores - about 130 boards, each with an address of its own you can link to, six game modes, and activity boards alongside the skills. Personal bests are per raid team size, every server record keeps its history, and there is a records hub showing who holds what and when they set it.
!pb,!kcand!lvlwork in chat. - Wiki - 38 written guides, portraits, item pictures and location maps on the pages, a sidebar and search, and a right-click Wiki option in game that opens the page for whatever you clicked.
- World Events - the journal's World Events plate now carries a thin bar per world boss beside the tournament clock, each row its own door into the fight, and the open races and any live HP event underneath. When something opens the tab flashes and the plate it happened on pulses.
- `::perks` - the table scrolls down as well as across, and seven more rows are listed on it.
- Portal Nexus - a trip through it is instant, with no wind-up. The same window opened any other way keeps the usual three ticks.
- Bank value - spawnable items and anything a counter gives away are priced at zero, so the bank total means what you are actually holding.
- Ghommal and the achievements window - the achievement screens have their donor titles back now the skilling ladder has moved onto
::tasks.

Client and performance
- Logging in - the gap between being in the world and seeing the map around you is down from about 4.1 seconds to about 1.7. The bulk of what the server sent at login is gone, and the graphics work the client used to do all at once on the first frame after login now happens while you are still at the login screen.
- Plugins that did nothing - Opponent Information, Fishing, Cooking, Corporeal Beast, Timers and Buffs, Player-owned House and Screenshot were all waiting on things the client never told them about, so they did nothing whatever their settings said. They work now, and the prayer bar draws under your health bar.
- Rendering - a long pass over the renderer against the reference clients. Large models are no longer dropped from the scene, fully opaque faces no longer draw invisible, your brightness setting survives a restart, the 117HD lights no longer freeze during a cutscene, wall decorations sit at the right angle, and terrain no longer takes a fresh random tint every time a region loads.
- Frame pacing - the software renderer's 50fps lock was sleeping for a single millisecond one frame in ten instead of the whole wait, so it spun a frame in ten for nothing.
- New display options - the colour blindness correction has an intensity slider instead of being all or nothing, and hybrid UI scaling is available in both the GPU and 117HD renderers.
- Missing graphics on a fresh install - a player who installed after the cache change saw no light orb at Mad Angel, no spikes at Vardorvis and nothing from most of this game's own graphics and projectiles, and deleting the cache did not help. Every one of them is back.
- The cache could wedge itself - a client could end up on an old cache that reported itself as current, print "Cache passed OK check" every launch and never re-download. It now only ever stamps a cache with the version it actually downloaded, retries the version check rather than guessing, and says so plainly when it cannot reach the host.
- Smoother ticks - the server was producing far more garbage per tick than it needed to, including on an empty world. That is down by a large factor across the board, which is felt as fewer pauses rather than as a frame rate.
Fixes
- Walking to what you clicked - four reports were one bug. Attacking Vorkath from due south walked you three tiles sideways to the far end of him; standing underneath a large monster and attacking it walked in circles; a trade request fired at somebody standing on the diagonal; and every Blood master worked their rock, tree or fishing spot from the corner. Interaction is square-on now, a target bigger than one tile is measured as the whole shape rather than its corner, and when there is a tie the tile in front of you wins.
- Party bosses would only fight the leader - every Theatre of Blood raider but the party leader was told "This npc was not spawned for you" and could not touch Verzik. A monster spawned inside an instance now answers to everybody in that instance.
- The Theatre's pillars were invisible - to whoever loaded the room last, usually the party leader. They are re-sent when you enter the region.
- The Theatre's treasure room - the chests stand against the walls where they belong, the marker arrow bobs over yours and the purple glow is a real light on the chest rather than something only you could see. A purple is announced now, too.
- General Store - once the first row sold out, every row after it was off by one: a buy read a different row and refused itself silently, and a price check closed the shop.
- Osmumten's fang - the plain and ornamented versions each hold, swing and special with their own animations. The ornamented one was held bare-handed, both swung a generic shortsword poke, and the special played the brine sabre's.
- Avernic treads - all seven upgraded pairs were wearing the base model.
- Coloured text - a colour tag in a menu, a hover panel or a chat line now ends where it should instead of leaking into the rest of the line.
- Community managers on the hiscores - the game has always kept the rank off every board it draws, because the rank holds the staff toolkit, but the website ranked them anyway. They are off the website boards, the chat lookups and their own player page now.
- Right-click Lookup - looking a player up from the menu opens the Hiscore panel on that player instead of doing nothing.
