Halloween, the Blood Tithe and the Completionist cape

Halloween is live at home now: the streets go dead and thorned, Death opens a wardrobe in the colonnade court, and a great cauldron in front of him fills until the Grim Reaper rises in the arena. Alongside it, the Blood Tithe turns loot you will never use into vitae at the blood fountain, and the Completionist cape is now claimable, with eight requirements behind it and four colour slots of your own.
Highlights
- Halloween - home is dressed for the season, Death sells the costume wardrobe for sweets, and the great cauldron raises the Grim Reaper. It is live now.
- The Blood Tithe - tithe loot you will never use at the blood fountain for vitae, then spend it on blood soaks, boosters and a communal meter that pays everyone a boost when it fills.
- Completionist cape - eight requirements, claimed from the Completionist at home, with a matching hood, four colour slots and the dragon emote.
- Combat tasks - the Theatre of Blood and the Inferno now carry hand-written Elite, Master and Grandmaster tasks instead of kill counts alone.
- Wilderness boss lairs - Callisto, Venenatis and Vet'ion have gone underground into their own lairs, behind one shared 50,000 coin fee and the Escape Caves.
New content
- Halloween, 1 October to 10 November - almost everything you kill, skill, steal or raid pays Halloween sweets while the season is live, with a soft cap of 500 a day. The season earns until 3 November and you can still spend until the 10th. Home is dressed throughout: dead plants, blood on the walls, gravestones, cobwebs, wandering spiders, pumpkin heads on the bankers and fourteen other faces at home, and Grimly Fiendish playing over it.
- Death's wardrobe - Death stands in the court east of the bank and sells the skeleton, spooky, gravedigger and witch sets, the wigs, the spider hats, the jack lantern mask and nine pumpkin heads for sweets. Anything you buy is reclaimable from him free, all year, if you lose it. A second shelf is limited and never restocks: the scythe, the Grim reaper outfit, the cobweb cape and three lanterns, one to an account, with each sale announced and the count left.
- The great cauldron and the Grim Reaper - the cauldron is a world goal. Check on it opens a window with the stage, the bar, what is still wanted and what you have earned yourself; at 4,000 sweets the Grim Reaper rises in the home arena for twenty minutes. He sweeps everyone beside him, fires soul bolts across the room, lands a typeless harvest that prayer does not stop, and every fourth attack stands up a wave of skeletons and red spiders. Everyone who turns up gets 40 sweets.
- The Halloween raffle - 50 sweets an entry, up to twenty, for the Spooky chair pet. Death takes the entries and the draw is weighted by how many you bought.
- The spotlight and the restless spirit - two bosses pay double sweets every two hours, announced when they rotate. One roster boss kill in twelve raises a restless spirit beside you; it never hits back and pays 15 sweets when you put it down.
- The Blood Tithe - the blood fountain has a Tithe option and a window of its own. Offer any of the 72 listed items, priced by how long the cheapest source takes to drop one, and get vitae back. Vitae buys blood soaks and the seven booster scrolls, your lifetime total is a rank from Bloodsworn up to Hallowed, and there is a Tithes board on the website.
- The communal meter - every tithe moves one shared meter as well as your own balance. When it overflows it hands the whole world a two-hour boost, and the cycle's top giver is named.
- Blood soaks - dip a piece at the fountain and it comes back blood red and a third see-through, with +2 on every bonus above zero, for 5,000 swings or hits taken. Fifteen families are in: the whip, abyssal tentacle, Neitiznot helm, the three black d'hide pieces, dragon boots, barrows gloves, dragon defender, granite maul, rune crossbow, Ahrim's robes, the ancient staff and blood elite void. Check reports the budget from your bag or the equipment tab, a re-dip refills it, and a soaked piece reverts to its plain self on a death that costs items rather than going to your killer.
- Blood elite void - the blood top, robe, gloves and the three helms mix freely with plain and elite void for the ordinary set effect. Wear a full blood set of one style and every part of that effect is 2.5 points better, listed on the Set Bonus page.
- The Blood phoenix - the Tithe pet. Every vitae you tithe past 2,500 lifetime rolls for it, so a big tithe is a real chance and a small one is a small one. Pet scrolls, donator tier and game mode all apply.
- Raid uniques are tithable - nineteen rows for the Chambers of Xeric, the Theatre of Blood and the Tombs of Amascut, from the Twisted bow and the Scythe of Vitur down to the Ancestral pieces.
- The Completionist - he wanders the plaza at home in the cape and hood, and Talk-to opens the eight requirements: every Combat Achievement, 99 in all 23 skills, all 32 Blood Pacts, all fifteen vitae unlocks, the Hallowed Tithe rank, the Blood phoenix, ten clues of each tier and 100 votes. Each row reads the system that owns it and offers a View that takes you there. Claim hands over the cape and the hood.
- The cape customiser - four colour slots on the Completionist cape, picked from a palette with a live preview, free to change, and everyone sees them. The glints that drift off the hem follow the colour you chose.
- Combat tasks - mechanical, perfection, restriction and stamina tasks for the Theatre of Blood and the Inferno, hand written rather than counted. They are team-wide, perfection tasks come in a Solo and a Duo form, reaching Inferno wave 67 is Elite and the clear is Master, and every Elite, Master and Grandmaster completion is a world broadcast. They count towards the same points, tiers and rewards as the kill-count rungs.
- The wilderness lairs - Callisto's Den, the Silk Chasm and Vet'ion's Rest join Hunter's End, the Web Chasm and the Skeletal Tomb. Entry is one 50,000 coin fee shared by all six and the Escape Caves, paid from your bag or bank, with 10,000 off for each boss you killed since the last payment up to a free entry. Arriving locks teleports for three ticks, logging out puts you back on the surface, and every lair mouth and all three Revenant Caves entrances now offer Peek so you can see who is inside before you drop in.
- The Escape Caves - a tunnel network under the Wilderness with its own monsters and its own way out, which is how you leave the three multi lairs.
- Slayer Equipment - Nieve's Trade option opens a coin counter for the protective gear and finishing items a monster task asks for: the leaf-bladed spear, the slayer's staff, the anti-dragon shield and the rest, with the bug lantern sold lit. Her points counter is unchanged.
- Treasure Trail Supplies - Watson stocks one answer to every emote step, Falo riddle, Sherlock task and Charlie errand, plus the spade. Coins, and he buys nothing back.
- Ornament kits - the eleven kits the clue caskets pay now attach to their base after a confirm, and Dismantle on the finished piece gives you both halves back.

Combat and balance
- Grotesque Guardians - the phase 3 lightning warns before it burns rather than hurting on spawn, Dawn's spheres come slower, never settle under a guardian and are absorbed if you run across one, so the phase can be finished.
- Leviathan - his specials no longer chain one into the next, a stun no longer skips the rotation so every special was Lightning, and the bite fires again.
- TzKal-Zuk - his typeless hit goes through Protect from Magic, as it should.
- Nex - the barrier stays passable while she is alive, so you can still join after the first forty ticks, and Peek reports without walking you through.
- God Wars bodyguards - a killed bodyguard comes back on its own timer while its general lives, rather than waiting for the general to die.
- Venenatis - the lair holds the reworked spider: 850 hitpoints, eight ranged then eight magic, a move every four attacks, spiderlings that raise her damage while they live, and a web. She leaves if her lair is empty for ten minutes.
- Dark bow - the two arrows it already fired now draw as two, the second on a higher arc, and Ava's rolls for each one.
- Chinchompas - a thrown chinchompa explodes, so it never lands on the ground and no Ava's device or quiver recovers it.
- Cooked food - every product on the Cooking ladder is edible at its OSRS heal, pizza halves, pies, bowls and five-bite crab meat included. Clicking cooked meat or cooked chicken used to do nothing.
Interface and quality of life
- The blood fountain window - one window with three tabs: Pacts, Tithe and Soak. Tithe shows your bag against the list with a quote on each item and the meter above it, Soak is a two-across grid of the fifteen families with the state of each, and the vitae counter opens from the same place.
- Check on worn gear - soaked pieces answer Check from the equipment tab as well as the bag, and so does the plain abyssal tentacle, which never had the option there.
- Enter amount - a prompt goes down with the screen that raised it. Withdraw-X on one item and then a click on another no longer withdraws the first.
- The chat line - closing any screen that took the keyboard gives the chat line back, including one pushed aside by another screen opening over it.
- Long names - an account whose name is over twelve characters shows online on friends lists and takes private messages. Both used to read as offline.
- Private messages - logging in over a live session no longer leaves you offline on your friends' lists until you relog.
- Teleport search - typing in the teleport window's search box filters again.
- Tab hotkeys - on the classic resizable frame, pressing an open tab's hotkey no longer leaves an empty stone panel behind.
- Spell icons - Vengeance and the Ancient spells no longer draw dim when you hold the runes for them.
- Revenant weapons - charging one reports the 1,000 activation ether as its own line, then what you added and the total. Check reads in charges.
- Pets - a follower answers its right-click options again.
- Handbook - Open loadouts opens the wardrobe panel rather than nothing.
- The two-hour new account wait is gone - trade, the Grand Exchange, shops, gambling, ground items, tournaments and the Tithe are open to a fresh account straight away.
- Staff off the boards - community manager and above are left out of world announcements and carry no hiscore rank, though a lookup still finds them.
- Brutus - counts towards a Cows slayer task.
- Home layout - Nieve and Blood Krystilia stand in one line, and TzHaar-Mej-Jal has moved to the plaza facing south.

Client and performance
- Cape and skull particles - the Completionist cape's glints and the Flaming skulls' fire are drawn in the world and on the equipment screen, and are now hidden by whatever is in front of you. Walls, bank booths, mining rocks, grass and tree crowns all cut them correctly instead of letting them shine through.
- Ice Barrage - a barrage that lands on an already frozen target draws six spinning ice orbs instead of a second ice block.
Fixes
- Crumble Undead no longer logs you out - it took the caster out of the game, which looked like a Vorkath disconnect when the zombified spawn appeared. Iban Blast, Magic Dart, Vulnerability, Enfeeble, Stun and Ice Blitz carried the same fault.
- Clue steps nobody could reach - every step in the pools was driven from arrival to completion. The Lumbridge windmill ladders and eleven other spots are now climbable, six sealed locations including Gu'Tanoth, Port Phasmatys and the God Wars ledge are open, the Dark Warriors' Fortress bridge is walkable again, and seventeen steps that cannot be reached at all, Weiss among them, have left the pools.
- Catacombs of Kourend - the slayer camps now match the wiki's spawn tiles, one per chamber. 88 monsters across 19 species counted from the wrong chamber, abyssal demons and mutated bloodveld among them.
- Friends list - deleting a friend or ignoring somebody no longer shows you offline to all your other friends.
- Levels set with gear on - picking a mode that earns its levels after you had geared up left you at level 3 in a dragon scimitar. Anything you no longer meet comes off and is handed back to your bag, bank or the floor.
- Saved off the map - an account whose last position was an instance tile outside the map could never log in again. It lands at home instead.
- Imbued heart - invigorating no longer leaves you invisible and frozen in place.
- Skotizo - a boss raised while the last one is still falling keeps its health bar.
- Bank search - a hotkey or tag search no longer lands on the tab you were last on, and asking for a count of zero no longer closes the next click you make.
- Fight Caves - the loot, and both TzHaar cape gambles with TzHaar-Mej-Jal and TzHaar-Ket-Keh.
- Telekinetic Grab - casts on ground items, walking into range first.
- Bones to Peaches - takes big bones.
- Mad Angel - Wake no longer disconnects you.
- Blood void - sleeves and hair no longer draw through the top, the helms are no longer see-through and the mage hood is no longer nearly black.
- God Wars - room respawns and the seed drops, and the blood maledictus pays its ether.
- Vote rewards - RuLocus called back even when its own page refused the vote, and we paid every one. A refused callback is now recorded and ignored.
- House accounts - an owner can hold an account out of every draw, ballot and prize with ::prizeexclude.
