Umbra and the Umbral vestments

Umbra, the Shadow General, now stands beside the Ancient Pyramid every six hours, and it is the only source of the Umbral vestments - a magic robe set built around binding. The Gemstone Crab is retired to make room for it, only one world boss is ever up at a time, and showing the Sanguine server tag on a linked Discord hands you a banner and a full suit of Sanguine armour.
Highlights
- Umbra, the Shadow General - a new world boss out in the Kharidian Desert, on its own six-hour clock, and the only place the Umbral vestments come from.
- Umbral vestments - a three-piece magic robe set whose full effect makes your binding spells land and your Tele Blocks hold.
- Sanguine banner and armour - both given free for showing the Sanguine server tag on a linked Discord.
- Autocasting - one audit of every weapon in the game, so each one autocasts the books and spells it does in OSRS.
- Halloween sale - bonus bonds, bonus Donator tickets, a reward ladder for what you spend and a free mystery box with every $300 order.
New content
- Umbra, the Shadow General - Nex's shadow general, raised to boss size and wearing the robes it drops, rises beside the Ancient Pyramid every six hours and stands for twenty minutes. It is a mage: a shadow barrage by default, then Binding night ("Kneel in the night!") which blasts and binds everyone within two tiles of it, and Shadow pools ("Fear the dark!") which paints a pool under every player three ticks before it bites. Below a third health it calls Umbral shades, and each one alive heals the boss until you put it down. The ground is safe, it is multi while the boss is up, and
::wbtakes you there. - Umbral vestments - the Umbral hat, mantle and robe, each carrying Ancestral's bonuses plus a further 1% magic damage. Wear all three and binding, freezing and rooting spells roll 50% more accurate, a Tele Block you cast lasts half again as long, and you get another 3% magic damage on top. One contributor drawn at random from each Umbra kill rolls a piece at 1 in 20. The full set throws purple sparks off the robe's hem as you walk.
- Sanguine banner and armour - show the Sanguine server tag on a Discord account you have linked, and the Sanguine banner, full helm, platebody, platelegs, plateskirt and kiteshield are handed over free, once per Discord account. All six are tradeable, and anyone who owns a piece can wear it only while their own tag is showing.
::bannerasks for them on the spot. - Donator banners - the Sanguine banner in each donator tier's colour with the black donator mark, 5,000,000 coins each on the Crimson Court counter. Your rank buys its own banner and every one below it.
- Halloween sale - a basket charged in full now earns bonus $5 bonds on top of it: +20% from $25, +25% from $100, +30% from $250. Every sale order also pays 10% of what you spent back in bonus Donator tickets, and a reward ladder pays out at $25, $75, $150 and $300 of event spend, then starts again from the bottom. Every whole $300 in one order earns a free mystery box, Spectral or Umbral, your pick.
- Umbral mystery box - the new box in that pair: one of the four Umbral pieces at even odds, mantle, robe, hat or scimitar, opened with the reward spin.
- Sanguine guards - two guards at home stand in the armour with the banner in hand.

Combat and balance
- Autocasting - every weapon was measured against OSRS and one table now decides what it autocasts. Powered staves - the tridents, sanguinesti, shadow, the sceptres, the crystal staves - autocast nothing at all, so a stored autocast can no longer beat the staff's own spell. The ancient staff gains the standard book beside Ancients, the staff of the dead line and the staff of light lose Ancients, the Arceuus book is limited to the weapons that hold it, and Iban Blast, Magic Dart, Crumble Undead and the three god spells autocast on their own weapons. You can also pick an autocast whatever your Magic level is - the cast refuses, the setting stays.
- Attuned sceptres - Thammaron's and the Accursed sceptre now answer Swap, both ways, between their powered and attuned forms, and one charge pool is shared across both so a swap costs you nothing. An attuned sceptre spends ether per cast, keeps the Wilderness bonus while charged and casts off runes when empty. The Accursed sceptre (a) and (au) can be wielded at last, and the attuned forms are priced at their sceptre's rung.
- Spectral armour - the set carries ordinary bonuses now. The boots take the Primordial boots' numbers and the cape the Infernal cape's; the chestplate, tassets, faceguard, whip and scythe already matched Bandos, the Neitiznot faceguard, the abyssal tentacle and the scythe of vitur. The gloves stay best-in-slot, and Phase and Wraith's echo are untouched - this took away the stat lead, not the set effect.
- Eye of Ayak - rebuilt against OSRS. The auto cast has its own animation, graphic and projectile, timed to the nearest tile of the target so a hit on a big boss no longer lands after the splat. Soul Rend plays its real animation and sounds, rolls twice as accurate and takes its 1.3x on the base hit before your magic damage, and a miss splashes. Doom now drops the uncharged Eye, uncharging refunds the tears or runes you charged it with, Dismantle pays 10,000 demon tears, and longrange reaches 8 tiles.
- Araxxor acid - a pool no longer hurts on the tick it is painted, so the counterplay works again. The Acid Drip was six guaranteed hits however you moved, and walking out of a trail climbed the damage; walking a trail now costs the base damage a tick and only standing still ramps it.
- Araxxor's ruptura - arms two tiles out, roots itself and swells for three ticks before it detonates, so the blast is something you can see coming and walk clear of. Kill it mid-fuse and it never goes off.
- World bosses - only one is ever standing or counting down, the Blood maledictus included. A boss whose bar is full waits its turn and opens its window the moment the world is clear.
Interface and quality of life
- The store - rebuilt as a shop front: a hero banner, one shelf with all five bonds on it and a stepper on each tile, and a footer that shows your total with the bonus it has earned. A bar fills toward the next bonus tier, and a second one tracks the event reward ladder and what the next rung pays.
- World boss travel -
::wbreaches whichever boss is up or counting down, Wilderness ones included, and every "is loose" message names the command. A bar waiting its turn reads Queued rather than claiming the arena is busy. - Tasks - the first launcher in the quest journal is now the door to your tasks, and the minimap orb went back to opening the store.
- Chambers of Xeric drops - the purple chance is quoted once in the header and each unique shows only its share of a purple. The Olmlet shows its 1 in 53 on a purple rather than a per-raid figure.
- Videos page -
::bonkopens it on Bonkloots' newest video. - Staff room - staff can bring a player in to talk to them. Only the door is gated now, and a guest leaves by the portal.
Client and performance
- Logging in - an out-of-date client is told to restart before it starts a long cache reload rather than after it, a login while the world is still coming up says the server is being updated instead of refusing the connection, and a login straight after a dropped connection waits for the old one to clear instead of turning you away. Two logins of one account at the same moment no longer kick the first one out.
- Restart now - the login screen puts up a Restart now button when your client is older than the server needs, and an update countdown warns you if yours is older than the build that is coming.
- Halloween darkness - the dark Halloween dusk now reaches players running 117 HD. The switch was being read in a place the published plugin does not have, so it did nothing.
- New logo - the blood-drip iron badge replaces the old wordmark everywhere it was: the login screen, the client icons and splash, the launcher and the website.
Fixes
- Other players' pets - a pet that is not yours has no right-click menu. Thirty-four pets, the fourteen Rift guardians and Spectral Bandos Jr among them, showed Talk-to and Pick-up to everybody.
- Banner stances - every banner in the game stood as though it were a clan vexillum. The Castle Wars, house, Cutthroat, league and Kourend banners and the rat poles now hold the real banner stance; the vexillums keep their own and the shattered banner keeps its.
- Crimson Court chests - both chests on the Court counter answer a click again, on the ground floor and upstairs.
- Home tiles - a run of tiles at home that could not be walked over are walkable.
