Bounty Hunter

Wilderness targets, emblems, killstreaks, and the target teleport that finds them.

Bounty Hunter is the Wilderness's own pairing system. Stand up there long enough and the game finds you somebody of a legal combat gap to fight, and pays you for winning.

Getting a target

Pairing happens on its own while you are in the Wilderness. Both sides get a hint arrow, and ::target prints your target's name, combat level, Wilderness level and distance, and refreshes the arrow.

What a kill pays

  • Blood money, capped per kill.
  • A killstreak, which grows while you keep winning.
  • A Mysterious emblem, which upgrades as you go and is worth more the further it gets.

Repeat kills on the same victim decay to nothing. The system measures the network a player is connecting from rather than anything the client tells it, so running your own second account into the Wilderness to farm yourself pays nothing at all.

The target teleport

A real level-85 spell, on all three spellbooks, learned once from a 30,000 blood money scroll at the Emblem Trader's counter. It puts you next to your current target.

  • It has a five-minute cooldown, and any change of target refunds that cooldown.
  • The ancient book has no spell slot for it, so a 250 blood money tab is that book's only route.
  • The tab is the one untradeable in the game that is destroyed on death rather than dropped or broken.

Reading the risk first

Everything in the Wilderness bosses guide about deaths applies here, and applies harder: a target fight is a player fight, so nothing is safe and ::kept is worth a look before you go up.
